“…NEXT Biometrics says it ‘has now proven its ability to consistently mass produce fingerprint sensors with industry normal yield figures.'”
NEXT Biometrics has now shipped over two million fingerprint sensors and hired two new senior executives, the company has announced.
It met the new shipping milestone last month, and it appears it’s already well on its way past it, with the company’s announcement this week that it has secured a new client with an order valued at $150,000. In its newest statement, NEXT Biometrics says it “has now proven its ability to consistently mass produce fingerprint sensors with industry normal yield figures.”
As for its new staff members, Zahira Dadon-Sitbon joins the company as VP of Product and Program Management, while Dan Cronin is its new EVP of Engineering and will focus on the company’s ASIC efforts. Each individual brings over thirty years of experience in the Semiconductor industry, with Dadon-Sitbon having worked with Synaptics, Motorola, and Philips, and Cronin having held executive positions with NXP, IBM, and also Motorola.
Commenting on the developments, NEXT Biometrics CEO Ritu Favre said the hires “prove our ability to attract top semiconductor industry talent,” while the high-yield production helps NEXT Biometrics “to meet the increasing demand for our cost efficient large-size fingerprint sensors.”
