NEXT Biometrics Exec Speaks at APAC Smart Card Conference

NEXT Biometrics is promoting its biometric smart cards technology at this week’s Asia Pacific SmartCard Association (APSCA) Powered and Next-Generation Cards Conference & Exhibition, the company has announced.

The event is pretty much what its title implies: An opportunity for stakeholders in the payment and smart card ecosystem to convene to discuss new technologies for the industry. As such, it’s also an opportunity for NEXT Biometrics to highlight its flexible fingerprint sensor technology, with the company having established the capability of mass production at the end of this past spring, a development that proved to be a key highlight in its most recent corporate update.

In a statement announcing its participation in this week’s event, NEXT Biometrics asserted that its VP Sales EMEAI & SmartCard Segment, Radek Matyasek, is one of its speakers and panelists, “discussing architecture, standards and applications for biometric smartcards”. It’s an area that seems to be of growing interest in the payments and smart cards sector, with one of the industry’s biggest brands, Mastercard, having conducted biometric payment card trials this year, while multiple biometrics specialists have sought to adapt their technology to such applications.
