Fingerprint Cards‘ new CEO has officially taken the helm. On August 1st, Christian Fredrikson took the place of former CEO Jörgen Lantto.
In a statement announcing the transition, FPC highlighted Fredrikson’s previous leadership roles in Nokia Networks, noting that he has “strong engineering know-how in areas essential for FPC’s future growth,” as well as “experience that includes real-time security for digital ecosystems, cloud technology and mobile solutions, as well as experience from the Asian markets.”
The credentials are important in the context of FPC’s current market position and its ambitions. Under the leadership of Jörgen Lantto, the company saw remarkable growth, with its latest corporate update detailing one of its strongest quarters to date. Having established a leading position as a fingerprint sensor supplier to the mobile sector, FPC has lately sought to expand into new areas including smart cards, the automotive sector, and the Internet of Things.
Its new CEO therefore has a considerable challenge before him, with a wealth of opportunities as well. For its part, FPC appears to be confident in Fredrikson.
