UCStrategies’ UC Summit 2015 is coming up in just a few weeks (Nov. 15th – 18th), and NEC Corporation of America is going to be an active participant. The company has announced that it will be both a sponsor and an attendee of the event.
UCStrategies is an industry resource for organizations involved in unified communications, and its UC Summit is essentially a networking opportunity, where “attendees are wined and dined in a warm and collegial fashion that is ideal for making connections and developing business relationships,” according to the company. NEC will be very active during those few days, delivering a keynote address on the 16th, highlighting its solutions in two panels on the 17th, and presenting on its vision of the future of the UC market and related technologies on the final day of the event. NEC says that throughout the week it will focus on technologies related to UCaaS cloud services, biometrics, SDN, and networking solutions.
In a press release, NEC Corporation of America VP Larry Levenberg highlighted the company’s concept of the “Smart Enterprise”, an organizations that integrates “SDN, sensors, biometrics facial recognition, retinal and fingerprint technologies and the expanded utilization of IT server and storage solutions” into its communications strategy. The emphasis on biometric technologies is to be expected from NEC; a market research report earlier this year indicated that the company is a leader in this area, not to mention its growing expertise in big data and cloud services.
NEC has also indicated that it plans “a big announcement” at the Summit, but has declined to provide any specific information in advance.
