NCSA Expands Digital Security Info Session Tour

The nonprofit, government-backed National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) has added 15 cities to its “Get Two Steps Ahead: Protect Your Digital Life” tour in support of raising public awareness about digital security.

In a statement, the Alliance framed the expansion as a response to President Obama’s calls for multi-factor authentication for online accounts. The NCSA’s STOP.THINK.CONNECT. campaign, of which its ‘Get Two Steps Ahead’ tour is a component, is a part of the Cybersecurity National Action Plan, and as such the NCSA is compelled to keep in step with signals from the top of the government, which is becoming increasingly interested in digital security.

In a statement announcing its expanded tour, NCSA board member Jacqueline Beauchere explained that the move brings the organization “closer to creating a culture of cybersecurity that encourages digital citizens to take the right actions to protect their online data and identities.”
