Today, MorphoTrust USA (Safran) announced that it has enrolled over one million Americans in the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA’s) traveler screening program, PreCheck. MorphoTrust is the exclusive provider of biometric enrollment services for the TSA PreCheck program, and the one million mark is a major milestone for the company and the border control initiative.
According to a press release announcing the achievement, MorphoTrust is enrolling about 4,000 people per day in the PreCheck program through its numerous application centers. MorphoTrust offers PreCheck enrollment through over 330 application centers, 31 of which are located in airports and many IdentoGO Centers.
Charles Carroll, senior vice president of enrollment services at MorphoTrust, commented on the announcement, saying, “Today’s milestone is a testament to consumer demand for convenient and expedient travel experiences.”
The benefits of PreCheck speak for themselves in terms of convenience. Members of the expedited security screening program don’t just benefit from express lanes at airports, but can avoid all of the most infamous American air travel inconveniences: PreCheck passengers may keep their shoes and belts on, and the don’t have to remove their laptops and liquids from carry on bags.
MorphoTrust CEO Bob Eckel says, “MorphoTrust is proud to have been a partner of the TSA for more than nine years, and to continue to support the rapid growth of this important program. Between our growing network of customer enrollment centers and our popular mobile enrollment programs, we are primed to further expand this program as its popularity continues.”
Those travelers hoping to join the one million PreCheckers are encouraged to pre-enroll online and set up an appointment at a local center where their biometrics will be captured and a background check will be performed. The process costs $85, takes only a few weeks to complete, and a PreCheck membership covers five years of express airport security.
