Scott Swann, a well recognized leader in the advancement of biometric technologies who most recently served as Special Assistant to the FBI Executive Assistant Director of the Science and Technology Branch, has joined MorphoTrak, a US based Morpho (Safran) company. Swann has been appointed to the position of Senior Director of Innovation for MorphoTrak’s Criminal Justice and Public Safety Business Unit.
As Senior Director of Innovation, Swann’s responsibilities include identifying, researching and developing customer solutions as well as leveraging Morpho’s biometric and security technologies.
Swann comes to MorphoTrak with an impressive resume, no doubt ready to take on such responsibilities. At the FBI he was most recently responsible for aiding the Bureau’s Executive Assistant Director of Science and Technology manage priorities for the largest Branch budget within the federal agency.
He also worked with the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Division (CJIS) from 2009 to 2011 as a Unit Chief, serving as the FBI Agency Primary representative to the National Science Technology Council Subcommittee on Biometrics and Identity Management and as Chairperson for the Department of Justice Biometric Cooperative.
While with CJIS, Swann worked in support of the Next Generation Identification Program (NGI), taking on the responsibility of directing, coordinating, and administering the research, development, test and evaluation of biometrics technologies and services.
The law enforcement biometrics market has been very active this past year, and with Scott Swann, MorphoTrak has found an industry veteran with the proven experience to ensure the company continues leading the industry with innovation in this area.
