We’re about halfway through Financial Biometrics Month, and the industry’s momentum continues as we speed toward the Biometrics Beyond Payments webinar.
In just the last couple of weeks, Citibank has expanded its embrace of biometric authentication beyond voice recognition for its call-in centers and is now leveraging Touch ID for fingerprint authentication on its mobile app; and two Hong Kong banks went into trials of their own biometric authentication systems using the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s new ‘sandbox’ innovation program.

We’ve also seen the release of a new report from Intelligent Environments indicating that banking customers are increasingly interested in iris-based authentication – a modality that could really take off over the next year given Samsung’s commitment to it and Apple’s rumored following suit.
It all points to broad excitement in FinTech over the possibilities and benefits of biometrics, a topic that will be explored thoroughly in FindBiometrics’ final webinar of the year. The discussion will be hosted by FindBiometrics President Peter O’Neill, and will feature Goode Intelligence’s Alan Goode, Crossmatch’s Christ Trytten, and HID Global’s Paul Butler in a panel discussion that will open to audience questions at the end.
The webinar is scheduled for November 30th at 11:00 AM EST, and those who take advantage of the free registration can expect a fitting conclusion to Financial Biometrics Month.
