“This latest integration follows a busy week for Fingerprint Cards, which appears to be in the midst of some serious business planning.”
Biometric technology from Fingerprint Cards (FPC) and Precise Biometrics has been incorporated into a new smartphone from a Taiwan-based OEM.
In statements announcing the integrations, the companies said that the new device features an FPC1035 sensor, and Precise BioMatch Mobile algorithm software. The companies declined to name the OEM in question, but the news follows previous integrations with a Taiwan-based OEMs device announced earlier this month.
This latest integration follows a busy week for Fingerprint Cards, which appears to be in the midst of some serious business planning. In a recent interview, the company’s CEO openly discussed the possibility of acquiring other companies to accelerate FPC’s expansion into new areas such as smart cards and automotive applications of its biometric technology, and toward the end of last week the company announced that it had concluded share buy-back operations intended to boost capital that could be used for such acquisitions.
Meanwhile, its mobile integrations continue apace, with this latest adding more such successes to an already busy month.
