Another new mobile device is using Precise Biometrics’ flagship fingerprint scanning technology. Called the Kingzone K2, it’s the latest low-cost smartphone from Kingzone.
It’s the product of Precise Biometrics’ partnership with China-based integrated circuit maker Silead. The two companies first partnered up earlier this year, and their alliance is evidently producing results.
It isn’t clear is this is any reflection of Precise Biometrics’ relationship with Fingerprint Cards (FPC), a leading sensor hardware supplier in the region that has helped Precise Biometrics, through integrations of its Precise BioMatch Mobile technology, to become the prominent algorithm software supplier that it is today. But Precise Biometrics is evidently looking to diversify its portfolio of partnerships with hardware makers, having recently entered a new licensing agreement with Shanghai OXi Technology, and continuing its work with Silead as we see with the Kingzone K2.
Of course, given that the smartphone fingerprint sensor market is booming, there is plenty of room for these additional partnerships, and all players are likely to see good results from them.
