A Japan-based rugged smartphone maker is taking advantage of biometric technology from Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics to enable fingerprint scanning on its newest device.
In statements announcing the integration, both FPC and Precise Biometrics declined to name the OEM in question. But FPC did specify that its FPC1140 sensor model has been integrated into the device, and Precise Biometrics’ Precise BioMatch Mobile is, of course, the algorithm software powering its biometric scanning.
The news adds to what has been a busy week of smartphone integration announcements from both companies. A pair of new devices from China-based 360 feature an FPC sensor and Precise BioMatch Mobile, as do new devices from Huawei, a regular customer of both biometrics specialists. This latest string of integrations further reinforces the leading positions of both Fingerprint Cards and Precise Biometrics in the growing mobile biometrics market.
