AAEON and iSign have teamed up to bring biometric signature recognition to the former’s rugged tablets.
It’s an entirely software-driven solution, with iSign software being installed on AAEON’s IP65 certified devices. It’s also one whose security gets better over time, since the companies say that it learns to recognize a user’s signature more accurately as the user continues to sign into the device.
In a statement announcing the integration, AAEON executive Chuck Anderson said his team is “extremely excited” about the partnership, and asserted that it has produced “a 99.999% secure mobile platform.”
The use of a signature for authentication is relatively unusual in the world of mobile devices, with fingerprint scanners now being widespread across smartphones and tablets. As such it could help AAEON to stand out.
