Innovatrics has come out on top in the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Proprietary Fingerprint Template Evaluation II (PFT II) test, the company has announced.
The test is meant to assess the accuracy of the algorithms used in the end stages of fingerprint matching, and Innovatrics’ software has achieved a top ranking in accuracy with a match rate of 99.98 percent. The company says that together with its technology’s equal error rates, this amounts to “the best results ever recorded during PFT evaluations,” according to a statement.
Commenting on the results, Innovatrics CEO Jan Lunter asserts that they demonstrate why the company’s algorithm “is the most suitable solution for practical implementation and use with large-scale databases in Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) solutions.”
The results arrive soon after Innovatrics opened new offices in the US and Singapore last month, and should help the company to further make the case for its technology in those markets.
