ImageWare Systems has sealed a major new deal with Lockheed Martin. Its Biometric Engine, which recently won patent approval in Canada and Australia, is being integrated into Lockheed Martin’s cloud-based Identity as a Service (IDaaS) platform, IDHaystack(SM).
Lockheed Martin is planning to offer the service to major clients, most notably the US government via SolaS, its community cloud computing platform. SolaS is approved by the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program, or FedRAMP, a program that sets and enforces security standards for cloud-based systems used by the government. It’s a major in for Lockheed Martin, in other words – and, therefore, for ImageWare, providing the company with a direct route to seeing its technology integrated into major government systems.
It’s a pretty significant deal for ImageWare, given Lockheed Martin’s prominence in the global arms and defence industry. In a statement, ImageWare CEO Jim Miller called Lockheed Martin “a well-recognized, world class company”, adding that both Lockheed Martin and ImageWare “pride ourselves on delivering superior world class biometric products and technology to our markets and partners.”
