Huawei is once again using Fingerprint Cards‘ biometric technology in a new smartphone. The Huawei Honor 9 features an FPC1264 fingerprint sensor.
This is yet another Huawei integration of FPC sensor technology. The Huawei Honor Magic, launched toward the end of last year, used an FPC1268 sensor; and the Honor 8 device from last autumn used an FPC1025 sensor.
News of the Huawei Honor 9 sensor arrives hot on the heels of another integration announcement this week with the OPPO R11 and the R11 Plus. Those devices each feature an FPC1245 sensor.
It’s a continuation of what to many will feel like a steady stream of mobile integrations for FPC over the past few months, despite the company’s warnings of a significant slowdown in its mobile business during the first half of this year.
