Huawei can’t seem to get enough of Fingerprint Cards’ and Precise Biometrics’ fingerprint scanning technology. The China-based OEM has once again integrated its longstanding partners’ technology into a new smartphone, the Huawei GX8.
As usual, the device features an FPC fingerprint sensor running on Precise BioMatch Mobile algorithm software. The sensor model, an FPC1025, is the same one used in Huawei’s recently announced Mate 8 smartphone, and it has previously been used in other devices like the Honor 5X, launched last year.
The integration continues a longstanding relationship between Huawei, FPC, and Precise Biometrics, with numerous smartphones from the company having previously integrated these partners’ technology. Indeed, Huawei has evidently been happy enough with the tech that it is now bringing it into its newest tablet, the MediaPad M2. But the GX8 integration offers a signal that Huawei has no intention of slowing down its smartphone integrations either, especially now that fingerprint sensors are becoming a standard feature on smartphones.
