Fingerprint Cards fingerprint sensor technology has found its way into another Asia-made smartphone, the company has announced. Huawei’s MaiMang 4 comes with an embedded FPC1025 sensor.
It’s a continuation of a standing relationship between the companies. Last fall Huawei’s Ascend Mate 7 became the first Android-based smartphone to feature an embedded fingerprint sensor, an FPC1020; and more recently the Huawei Honor 7 came out with an FPC1025 built in. In a statement, FPC CEO Jörgen Lantto expressed the company’s pride in this latest integration and attested to the quality of the fingerprint sensor used, asserting, “FPC1025 supports 360 degree finger rotation capability, fast response time and industry leading 3D image quality.”
The new integration also continues the trend of Asia-made smartphones using FPC technology for their fingerprint sensors. FPC technology has proven highly popular for smartphone makers in the region; just this week, OnePlus launched its newest flagship device, which itself employs an FPC1150 sensor.
