ISC West begins next week, and as a major physical access event, biometrics will find itself featured heavily in the three day conference let in Las Vegas.
Today, HID Global announced a list of eight demonstrations and two conference events that it will be presenting. The solutions and emerging technologies that the company will be showcasing next week are set to highlight Bluetooth LE and NFC for mobile access, as well as HID’s new iCLASS SE Encoder.
The demonstrations will also be featuring multispectral fingerprint imaging technology courtesy of HID Global’s most recent acquisition: Lumidigm. Announced earlier this year the acquisition benefited both parties, HID gaining the impressive fingerprint technology for its biometrics portfolio, and Lumidigm with the global reach and resources that its buyer can provide.
HID Global will be present at booth #11053, where all of its demonstrations will be held. The demonstration schedule looks to run the gamut of physical access areas of deployment, with HID promising demos on the topics of emerging technologies, card and reader migration solutions, as well as solutions for government, education, healthcare, financial and enterprise markets.
In addition to these promised demonstrations, on Thursday, April 3, HID Global’s director of intellectual property will be presenting a track session titled “The Power of Mobile: Leveraging Smartphones for New Levels of Authentication and Access Control.”
Prior to that, Juilian Lovelock, HID Global’s director of product marketing, identity assurance, will be presenting “The Anatomy of a Mobile Device” on the Tuesday, from 9:15 AM to 10 AM as part of the Smart Card Alliance Educational Institute Mobile Devices and Identity and Access Control Applications Workshop.
HID Global’s acquisition of Lumidigm was particularly big news in the first quarter of 2014, to learn more and get up to speed prior to ISC West, be sure to check out the findBIOMETRICS exclusive interview with Bob Harbour, Lumidigm’s executive director.
