Green Bit Moves to N2N Challenge Finals

Green Bit is a finalist in the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA)’s Nail-to-Nail Fingerprint Challenge, the company has announced.

Launched in near the start of this year, the N2N Challenge is aimed at spurring the development of technology that can automate the scanning of a full fingerprint, from nailbed to nailbed. The process as currently practiced by law enforcement agencies requires substantial involvement from human operators, which raises the risk of error in fingerprint capture.

Green Bit’s solution uses its DactyScan40i fingerprint scanner and MultiScan SDK software. In a statement announcing Green Bit’s advancement to the final round of the Challenge, Green Bit said its technology “minimizes human operators from physically interacting with the subject and rolling the fingerprints”.

With the IARPA challenge, we can showcase our hardware and software technology to include our sophisticated algorithms with parameters to avoid operator obstruction.”

Green Bit will be demonstrating its solution in competition with other rivals during the week of September 18th, with winners to be announced later this autumn.
