“By leveraging international standards for biometric data, BIO-key is able to provide the Province with a flexible, secure, and highly scalable platform for managing biometrics across a broader range of use-cases.” – Mike DePasquale, CEO, BIO-key
BIO-key has announced a new government contract win: The Province of British Columbia is expanding its use of the company’s WEB-key fingerprint authentication software.
The BC government first became a BIO-key client back in 2012, leveraging its fingerprint authentication technology for “self-service access for identity information management and authentication services,” according to a statement from BIO-key. Now, it’s expanding its use of BIO-key technology to a new facility.
Commenting on the new contract, BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale asserted that “[b]y leveraging international standards for biometric data, BIO-key is able to provide the Province with a flexible, secure, and highly scalable platform for managing biometrics across a broader range of use-cases.”
The contract win comes at a time of growth for the company. Earlier this month, BIO-key issued a fiscal update depicting markedly higher year-over-year revenues, and the company also just appointed a new member to its Board of Directors who could help to extend the company’s reach in the Asian market.
