This year’s Global Identity Summit will be of particular interest to American lawmakers looking to explore migration control solutions, according to the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, or AFCEA. In a press release on the conference, AFCEA points out highlights that will appeal to these concerns as well as various others as identification technologies continue to advance and provide new solutions.
Speakers at the upcoming conference include some major players in the industry, such as Mark DiFraia, MorphoTrust USA’s senior director of solutions strategy, and Michael Garris, biometrics senior scientist at NIST/ITL/IAD. Other speakers include the head of Interpol’s fingerprint unit, a professor from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Open Identity Exchange president Don Thibeau.
In terms of workshops and roundtables, there will be a range of sessions focusing on topics such as “Biometrics for Department of Defense Law Enforcement”, “Global Commerce: The Importance of Identity Within the Financial Services Sector”, and a perennial favorite, “Killing the Password“. GIS will also feature 25 sessions that can qualify as continuing education for various certifications, such as those related to PMI and NCMA. FindBiometrics’ own Peter O’Neill will be moderating a panel on biometrics and public perception as well.
GIS 2015 will run from September 21st to the 24th at the Tampa Convention Center in Florida.
