Princeton Identity has a new expert advisor. The company has announced that Brian Russell, the former SVP of Financial Solutions for Giesecke+Devrient’s Mobile Security U.S. Division, has joined its advisory board.
In a statement announcing his appointment, Princeton Identity asserted that during his term with G+D, “Russell transformed the financial services business from a traditional card manufacturer to a full service identity management solutions provider”. But Russell brings other credentials to the table, too. He is an “active member of the Federal Reserve Banks Mobile Payment Industry Workgroup (MPIW) and the Secure Payments Task Force,” and has also served as the Secure Technology Alliance’s Chairman of the Board. He has also held positions pertaining to digital financial services with Catalina Marketing, MyPoints.com, and Mastercard Worldwide.
Commenting on Russell’s appointment, Princeton Identity CEO Mark Clifton said his “breadth of experience is an incredible asset to our team,” adding later that he “has a strong reputation for driving brand visibility, market position, and revenue growth.”
Russell joins Princeton Identity at a propitious time. Samsung – an early backer of the firm – has used its biometric technology to power the iris scanning feature it has been pioneering in its latest flagship smartphones, and last month Princeton Identity expanded its executive team with the appointment of new Sales and Marketing VP Bob McKee, suggesting a sense of momentum and growth among Princeton Identity’s leadership.
