Anticipating a ‘major growth phase’, FST Biometrics‘ board of directors has appointed Avi Naor its new chairman.
A co-founder of software company Amdocs, Naor helped to build it into a multimillion dollar company and led its IPO just a few years after its launch in 1995. He went on to work for investment firm Alpha Group, and in 2011 served as chairman of the board of Retalix, into which Alpha Group invested, until that company was sold in 2012.
Echoing that last stint, he now comes to FST Biometrics as an investor, and in a statement announcing his appointment he asserted that his aim is to take the company “to the next level.” Naor also asserted that he has “seen the significant interest that tier-one customer prospects have shown in the company’s game-changing technology and offerings,” referring to its In Motion Identification (IMID), a multimodal passive identification system combining voice, face, and gait biometrics, and which has so far seen a wide range of applications.
Commenting on Naor’s appointment, FST CEO Aharon Zeevi Farkash said in his business background he “has demonstrated the winning combination of vision and passion that virtually ensures significant growth and achievement for any organization he touches,” adding, “We look forward to Avi playing a major role in our future success and expansion.”
