A forward-thinking innovation museum in the Netherlands is using FST Biometrics technology to provide visitors with a unique, technologically-enhanced experience. Called the ICER Innovation Center, the museum has implemented FST’s In Motion Identification (IMID) technology to identify visitors.
It’s a way of tailoring the visitor experience to each individual. Museum visitors sign up for the system upon arrival, and then at 15 IMID-equipped checkpoints throughout the museum, each visitor is identified through IMID’s unique multimodal system, employing voice, facial and motion pattern modalities. The identification is quick and passive, and allows each identified visitor to then receive personalized information about a given museum exhibit.
In a statement, ICER Innovation Center Interim Director Kees Nieuwenhuijse explained that the museum’s goal is “to paint an image of the world today through the art of technology,” adding, “What better way than providing our visitors with a hands-on experience”.
The museum has seen 14,000 visitors to date, and even the Netherlands’ King and Queen tried out the IMID experience. The high-profile demonstration of IMID should further bolster FST’s reputation, which has also benefitted from the endorsement of former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak, not to mention the company’s other customers.
