Huawei has announced another smartphone featuring an FPC1267 fingerprint sensor.
Like the recently launched V10 smartphone, the new Nova 2S uses an FPC1267 sensor model. Also like the other device, it features an 18:9 screen, reflecting a design trend that is pushing the fingerprint sensor to the rear of many other smartphones, though in the case of the V10 and the Nova 2S FPC’s thin sensor still fits in a narrow bezel at the bottom of the front side of the device.
The Nova 2S’s announcement comes soon after the previous device in this smartphone line, the Nova 2i. That phone was launched this past October, and used a different Fingerprint Cards sensor, the FPC1028.
Other features of the new Huawei device include a front-facing dual camera system and a dual camera setup on the rear; a Kirin 960 processor; a 3,340 mAh battery; and the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The device is available in China at a price of 2699 yuan, or about $400.
