“Lantto joins the company’s board at an apparently propitious time: At the end of last month, Zwipe announced that it had started a joint venture with tech investment consortium Kuang-Chi Group.”
Fresh off his run as Fingerprint Cards’ CEO, Jörgen Lantto has joined the board of directors of fingerprint biometrics company Zwipe.
It’s a promising addition to the company’s leadership team. Lantto helmed FPC during its period of remarkable growth, overseeing its ascent to its leading position as a fingerprint sensor for the mobile market. He stepped down this past summer as FPC brought on a new leader to steer its expansion into new frontiers.
Commenting on his Zwipe appointment in a statement, Lantto highlighted the particular technological focus of the company in explaining its appeal to him, saying “the decision to join Zwipe’s board is rooted in my belief of Zwipe’s technology allowing fingerprint recognition without batteries or fixed power supply.”
Lantto joins the company’s board at an apparently propitious time: At the end of last month, Zwipe announced that it had started a joint venture with tech investment consortium Kuang-Chi Group. That kind of financial backing could offer some useful leverage to Lantto and the rest of Zwipe’s leadership team as they seek to realize the company’s full potential.
