Dermalog has obtained some critical certifications for its ePassport MRTDAPI software that could help to extend its market reach.
The software is designed to authenticate biometric information stored on the RFID chips of contemporary ID documents. As such, it faces an expanding market as a growing number of government agencies integrate biometrics into their passports and other ID documents.
Now, the solution has received TR-03105 certification from the German Federal Office for Information Security – a certification that “confirms the reliable functioning of the software and the compliance with the strict requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO),” according to a statement from Dermalog.
That should help to facilitate the solution’s market reach, particularly in the form of Dermalog’s VF1 All-In-One device, a piece of hardware designed to scan fingerprints, identity documents, and even airline tickets. There are likely now more government administrators than ever shopping around for this kind of solution than there ever have been, so this new certification could prove essential in accelerating the device’s market trajectory.
