Identity and authentication solutions provider Daon is highlighting the success of its client USAA. In a case study, the company is looking at how its IdentityX mobile biometric authentication system has helped the military-focused financial services organization to achieve its goals in providing users with mobile access that employs high-tech security.
The multimodal system uses a combination of voice recognition, facial recognition and PIN verification to authenticate users of USAA’s mobile app. After a number of small pilot testing projects, the IdentityX solution saw a full-scale deployment at the start of this year, and received, according to Daon, an “overwhelmingly positive” response. Within just a few weeks of its launch, over 100,000 USAA members were on board with the system. Daon says that its client anticipates the system will not only improve user security, but will also improve customer satisfaction and retention.
There’s good reason for USAA to harbour such expectations. In its recently released fiscal report for 2014, USAA credited its strong results in part to technological innovation, which IdentityX has pushed forward even further since its rollout in January. The company also started offering support for Apple Pay last year, which has done its part in contributing to customer satisfaction – just as its IdentityX authentication is expected to for this year.
