CSC, a digital transformation facilitator, has announced that it has entered into an agreement to provide Atom Bank with security technology for mobile authentication.
Called ConfidentID, the system is based on IdentityX‘s FIDO-certified biometric authentication platform. Having produced successful results in its deployment with USAA’s mobile banking app, the platform will now be leveraged to offer a flexible security system combining PINs, password, biometric modalities, and other measures in a way that can be adjusted based on the transactions being performed.
It should serve Atom well; the bank is a British startup seeking to offer fully and exclusively digital financial services. That means all customer interaction will be through online interfaces, which makes digital authentication of critical importance.
In a statement announcing the deal, Atom COO Stewart Bromley asserted that using “CSC’s biometric software we will provide a service to customers that is safe and easy to use,” while CSC executive Beau Andersen said the technology will allow Atom’s customers “to conduct transactions with confidence through secure authentication”.
