UK-based Ievo has received CPNI (Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure) accreditation for its Ievo Ultimate fingerprint reader, the company has announced.
The certification means that the Ievo Ultimate is now included in CPNI’s Catalogue of Security Equipment. CPNI works with a range of government and academic bodies in the UK to provide national security guidance with respect to infrastructure, so inclusion in its Catalogue could open up new market paths for Ievo in the country.
The Ievo Ultimate certainly has some merit. It uses multispectral imaging to detect not only fingerprint patterns but also fingerprint elements beneath the surface level of the finger, allowing for greater reliability. The fingerprint reader is also IP65 rated, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -20˚C to 70˚C.
Ievo has already made a name for itself in the country with multiple access control deployments of its biometric technology, and this latest accreditation could help it to further extend its presence in the domestic market.
