“Citi says it has reached its goal of getting a million customers to enroll in the voice authentication program about two months ahead of schedule…”
Citibank has now brought voice authentication to a million customers in the Asia Pacific region, the bank has announced.
The system operates via the bank’s call-in lines, passively identifying customers by their voice biometrics during the course of their conversations with call center representatives. Citi says the system can identify customers in 15 seconds or less.
In reaching the million-customer milestone, the bank has also succeeded in reaching its goal, announced a little under a year ago, of being the first bank to bring its voice authentication system to the entire APAC region. The system is now available in the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, India, and Australia.
Citi says it has reached its goal of getting a million customers to enroll in the voice authentication program about two months ahead of schedule, suggesting stronger than anticipated enthusiasm for the technology on the part of customers.
