Chatsworth Products (‘CPI’), a provider of security solutions for IT infrastructure, is integrating Zwipe‘s biometric access control card into its portfolio.
The development means that CPI customers will be able to leverage biometric authentication via Zwipe Access cards, enabling authorized individuals to access secure areas with a simple fingerprint scan at a card reader. The companies say that Zwipe Access is fully compatible with CPI’s Electronic Access Control Solutions and a range of other employee ID systems.
In a statement announcing the partnership, CPI Power, Electronics & Software Senior Product Manager Ashish Moondra suggested that it’s the result of a “need to push security and authentication down to the cabinet level,” adding that CPI’s leadership “believe two-factor, biometric-based authentication is the most secure system available” to this end.
Commenting further, Zwipe Access Control SVP Einar Boije pointed to “industry mandates to upgrade user authentication while maintaining their privacy,” pointing out that Zwipe Access allows for just that. Boije added that Zwipe Access is already used in data centers around the world, and that the CPI’s embrace of its technology should help to ensure that it’s “available to an even larger market.”
News of the deal comes soon after Zwipe Access was showcased by Zwipe and numerous partners at this year’s ASIS expo in Dallas, Texas.
