United States biometric and identity management solutions provider MorphoTrak, a subsidiary of Safran USA, has had a new president and CEO appointed to lead the company through the new year and beyond.
Morpho announced today that it has appointed Celeste Thomasson to the position of president and CEO of MorphoTrak. This new positioning reflects the company’s need to fill the leadership space left in the absence of Daniel Vassy – the previous CEO and president – who has returned to Safran under a new assignment with the high-technology concern.
Having been with Safran since 2002 when she worked as legal counsel of Messier Services, Thomasson comes to the position well recommended. Most recently, starting in 2010, she served at Safran’s vice president of legal affairs, before which she held the position of senior vice president and general counsel of Safran USA.
This new appointment comes just after MorphoTrak has experienced what Robert Horton, the company’s director of marketing and communications (when questioned as part of the 11th annual findBIOMETRICS Year in Review) described as an “extremely successful” 2013. According to Horton, the coming year will see MorphoTrak targeting healthcare and social benefits programs in an effort to reduce fraud, as well as taking advantage of their position to capitalize on the mobile biometrics boom that we are currently experiencing in the strong authentication industry.
