Seoul-based Suprema has announced BioEntry W2, the latest in its line of access control solutions.
BioEntry W2 revolves around fingerprint scanning, and is designed for use in a range of environments including outdoors. It features a 2GB memory allowing for the management of the identity credentials of up to 500,000 users, and its 1.2GHz quad core processor enables matching speeds reaching 150,000 profiles per second.
The device also features smart card reading technology supporting most RFID card standards including DESFire, EM, FeliCa, HID iCLASS, HID Prox, MIFARE, and NFC. That’s shouldn’t overshadow the device’s fingerprint scanning technology though: In a statement announcing the device, Suprema asserted that BioEntry W2 also sports the company’s proprietary liveness detection technology, which “effectively eliminates possible fraud using various fake fingerprint materials including clay, rubber, silicon, paper and film.”
Suprema will showcase its solution at IFSEC 2016 in London next week, where the company will share a booth with biometric software partner BioConnect.
