After its participation in last week’s ISC West security event, BioConnect is highlighting a few major trends that its team uncovered.
One is the desire for a single, standardized platform. Showcasing its flagship BioConnect v3.6 identity management platform, the company says on its blog that it found a “very receptive” audience to the idea of a centralized solution aimed at low-friction enterprise deployments.
The company’s team also noted significant growth in the applications for biometrics, not to mention the plethora of devices themselves. BioConnect says it found “more biometric devices than ever seen before at ISC West”, and an expansion beyond the usual modalities and security applications of the technology; BioConnect itself showed off how the Nymi Band could offer wearable, second-factor authentication in conjunction with Suprema’s BioStation A2.
Finally, BioConnect also noted growing excitement about mobile and the Internet of Things, with larger enterprises starting to prepare to adopt mobile authentication solutions, and starting to think about security issues connected to the IoT. For many, it’s too early to consider specific solutions, but it’s a fair bet that BioConnect will have some to offer as organizations begin to adapt in these areas.
