BIO-key’s SideTouch fingerprint readers will soon be showcased on the Home Shopping Network, the company has announced.
BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale had hinted that this was coming in the company’s Q2 update last month, in which he asserted that BIO-key was in talks “with a leading television shopping network” about a potential showcase of its products. Now, BIO-key has revealed that its SideTouch solution will be showcased on the network during the hour starting 8:00pm EST on Wednesday, September 27th.
In a statement announcing the television event, BIO-key asserted that “HSN hosts will demonstrate how easy it is to install and use SideTouch readers on Windows PCs and tablets”, with SideTouch being one of BIO-key’s flagship USB fingerprint readers designed for compatibility with Windows 10’s Windows Hello biometric authentication platform. BIO-key also said that the program will see the SideTouch readers offered “in product bundles and exclusive promotions” to HSN viewers.
The timing of the television appearance appears to be fortuitous for BIO-key, coming the day before DePasquale is to address potential investors at the Sidoti & Company Fall 2017 Conference in New York, many of whom could be impressed by the growing visibility of BIO-key’s technology.
