BIO-key has partnered with a powerful distributor for its fingerprint-based biometric products and software. The company has inked a sales and distribution deal with Access Sales Group (ASG).
In a statement announcing the partnership, BIO-key emphasized ASG’s reach in the mass market via its “high-volume retail and enterprise channels,” adding that the firm has “extensive VAR/VAD distribution” and “a retail partner network with expertise in driving new products”.
For ASG’s part, company president Norman Yohay said his team is “very excited” to launch BIO-key’s products, asserting, “Most consumers and enterprise customers are looking for an easy solution to address the inefficiencies of passwords and prevent credential misuse.”
It appears that BIO-key’s products’ compatibility with Windows 10 will be a key selling point as they are pitched through ASG’s channels. BIO-key became Microsoft’s key biometrics partner when the latter party began to embrace strong authentication technology with its latest major operating system. BIO-key has continued to work with the tech giant to ensure continued compatibility as Microsoft launches the Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
Commenting on the distribution deal, BIO-key CEO Mike DePasquale highlighted the company’s SideSwipe, SideTouch, and EcoID as “easy-to-use, plug-and-play fingerprint sign-in” solutions for Windows 10 users.
