BIO-key representatives are in New York City today to present the company’s latest biometric padlocks at CES Unveiled New York.
It’s an invite-only event meant to offer a kind of sneak preview of the innovative technologies to be showcased at the annual Consumer Electronics Show, which is held each January. BIO-key first unveiled its TouchLock biometric padlocks at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show, and the solutions have proceeded to become a considerable factor in BIO-key’s revenues in recent months.
The company wasn’t just showing off its biometric and Bluetooth-enabled padlocks, however. BIO-key also took the opportunity to demonstrate its USB fingerprint readers designed for out-of-the-box compatibility with Microsoft’s Windows Hello biometric authentication platform for the Windows 10 operating system. One of the solutions, SideTouch, recently made its TV debut on the Home Shopping Network, so it’s possible some attendees of CES Unveiled will have begun to assess its potential for broader market adoption.
In a statement announcing BIO-key’s participation in today’s event, CEO Mike DePasquale explained that “CES has a global reputation as ‘the place’ to launch technology-driven consumer products, and the ‘CES Unveiled’ series provides a jump start on media and buyer attention for new consumer electronic products.”
CES 2018 will take place in Las Vegas from January 9th to 12th.
