“…BIO-key has unveiled new additions to its lineup, including Q-180 Touch, a fingerprint reader with a Micro USB plug designed to enable compatibility with Android mobile devices.”
BIO-key is aiming to kick-start 2017 by launching multiple new products at next month’s Consumer Electronics Show.
The company is well known for its USB fingerprint readers, whose Windows 10 compatibility is designed to enable plug-and-play biometric authentication via the Windows Hello security platform. Now, BIO-key has unveiled new additions to its lineup, including Q-180 Touch, a fingerprint reader with a Micro USB plug designed to enable compatibility with Android mobile devices.
Other new USB offerings include the SidePass, a square-shaped device with a fingerprint scanner affixed to its side; and FreePass, a USB fingerprint reader with an attached wrist strap and a cord allowing it to be worn around the neck. Meanwhile, the new TouchLock devices extend BIO-key’s line beyond USB dongles: They’re padlocks with embedded fingerprint readers, with the TouchLock BLE featuring Bluetooth technology designed to enable smartphone connectivity.
BIO-key’s new offerings should help the company to attract some attention from its booth during CES 2017, and may also help to drum up some interest from potential investors when the company hosts an investment briefing at its booth (#2317) on January 6th.
