This year biometric technology had a massive presence at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), with fingerprint, iris, face and voice recognition solutions all finding representation on the exhibition floor. AGNITiO, a provider of voice biometrics solutions, was among the companies representing the strong authentication industry, and the company was named Innovation & Design Award Honoree by the Envisioneering industry research firm.
AGNITiO was singled out for its KIVOX Mobile 5.0 and the applicable software development kit, which were unveiled at CES last week. The new voice recognition software solution is a significant development for mobile voice recognition. Based on the Voice iD engine, it can perform perform fixed phrase, free phrase and natural speech authentication.
Explaining the decision to single out AGNITiO, head judge Richard Doherty, Envisioneering’s research director, said, “AGNITiO evolves novel, streamlined secure ways for people to manage their increasingly mobile identity. The company garnered two Honoree Awards for their KIVOX Mobile SDK and KIVOX Mobile 5.0 release.”
KIVOX Mobile 5.0 fit in especially well at this year’s CES, as it boasts Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and the machine to machine (M2M) network was a key topic at last week’s exhibition. IoT has recently been singled out by experts as presenting a great number of opportunities for biometric security. Modalities like voice recognition, which offer handsfree authentication, are particularly suited for IoT security.
“Privacy and security are more important than ever now to consumers,” said AGNITiO CEO Emilio Martinez. “Voice identification and authentication must also be convenient, easy to use, and have the ability to personalize the IoT experience to be widely adopted. We are pleased that Envisioneering has recognized the importance of the KIVOX Mobile 5.0 SDK for advancements that balance convenience with security in one product.”
This is the second year in a row that Envisioneering has singled out KIVOX as an innovative technology at CES. In 2014 AGNITiO made the list of honorees with its KIVOX solution.
