“The A700-M fingerprint sensor provides the backbone for a system that is seamless, convenient, and secure.” – Samuel Wu, Vice President, International Business Department, Aratek
Aratek is highlighting another fingerprint module in its portfolio: the A700-M.
It’s a FAP 30 optical fingerprint sensor module featuring a large sensor surface, enabling the solution to capture more biometric data from a given fingerprint. More specifically, the sensor is 20.32mm by 25.4mm, and can generate a 400 by 500 pixel image.
“Capturing more biometric data results in a vastly more accurate and secure authentication,” explained Aratek International Business Department VP Samuel Wu.
“The A700-M fingerprint sensor provides the backbone for a system that is seamless, convenient, and secure,” he said. “In payments, for example, it minimizes failed matches in authentication that could result in customer dissatisfaction and costly delays in payment processing.”
What’s more, the solution is equipped with Aratek’s Live Finger Detection (LFD) algorithm, which is designed to detect spoofing attacks (and confirm that a live finger is present during a scan).
“With the help of Aratek’s patented algorithm, the A700-M is able to tell a fake finger from a real one by analyzing the pores, ridges, consistency, and other characteristics,” said Wu.
The solution also offers considerable speed in biometric matching, thanks to an algorithm that received MINEX III certification back in June of 2019. Aratek says that the A700-M can deliver 1:1 authentication in 0.1 second, and perform a 1:N match in less than half a second.
