Nedap Security is teaming up with AnyVision to provide its customers with touchless access control capabilities. To that end, Nedap will specifically be integrating AnyVision’s facial recognition technology into its own AEOS Access Control solution.
According to AnyVision, the strategic partnership will offer a number of advantages to organizations that are looking to bolster their security. AEOS itself is a web-based application that gives organizations granular control over their access control environment. Administrators can set different access privileges for each employee and each part of the building to ensure that only those with the proper authorization are able to gain entry to certain areas.
AnyVision’s technology will simply streamline the authentication process at physical checkpoints. Employees will be able to look at a camera, and AnyVision’s tech will match that person’s face to an image registered in the system. It will then grant access to those with the proper authorization. Employees to not need to touch any terminals in order to use the system, and do not need to carry physical cards or fobs that can be lost or stolen.
AnyVision’s solution also offers liveness detection, using a sensor array to create a 3D face map that is resistant to various forms of spoofing. The AEOS system, meanwhile, will create an auditable log of access events that makes it easier to track any unauthorized activity.
“Giving customers a face-based biometric option can dramatically improve a facility’s security while simultaneously streamlining the visitor management experience,” said AnyVision Business Development VP Ido Amidi.
“Together, we are enhancing the security of access control with state-of-the-art biometrics that improve operational efficiency, the user experience, and data privacy,” added Nedap Technical Integration Specialist Wesley Keegstra.
Nedap previously added facial recognition to AEOS through a partnership with Thales in July of 2020. It also offered support for fingerprint recognition through an alliance with Suprema, and believes that its solution is well-suited to venues ranging from offices to industrial facilities.
In the meantime, AnyVision brought in $235 million in its latest round of funding. The company agreed to provide face-based access control for FGF Brands in May of 2021.
