Alutel Mobility Integrates Imageware Facial Recognition Into Access Platform

Identity proofing and authentication specialist Imageware and mobile access technology company Alutel Mobility have announced a partnership that will see the integration of Imageware’s biometric authentication capabilities into Alutel’s AMS Suite 6.0 solutions.

The introduction of biometrics into Alutel’s solutions — which specialize in mobile access control technologies, mustering, visitor management, document control, and corporate cafeteria management — means that a photo of an individual who is registered in AMS Suite 6.0 will then be compared against a captured live image of the same individual when entering or leaving a facility.

Imageware’s Biometric Engine will look to match the biometric data from both images, which will then allow AMS Suite 6.0 to either allow or deny access to the individual based on the results of the match.

“Customer requirements, environments, and situations all change, and our technology must adapt to these changes,” said Michel Grudzien, CEO of Alutel Mobility. “Authentication via facial recognition will increase security when verifying and facilitating access in open environments where fixed systems (such as turnstiles or gates) cannot be implemented. This functionality also allows access without physical items that people must have, such as cards or even telephones, that in an emergency can become an obstacle to validation.”

Additionally, due to its on-device biometric matching with continuous syncing to a cloud-based database, this combined solution will allow for biometric access control and authentication even when local systems are offline.

The news of the partnership caps off a busy month for Imageware that included the announcement of a strategic relationship with TECH5, and an appearance at the Advance 2021 Conference organized by the California Peace Officers’ Association, where it demonstrated some of its solutions aimed at the law enforcement community.
