Alcatraz AI is expanding into the European and Middle Eastern markets, announcing the opening of new regionally-focused offices and executive appointments to lead them. Bodil Nilsen will act as Senior Director of Sales for Nordics, UK and Europe; and Shaun Oakes has been named Senior Director of International Sales for the Middle East and Africa. The move comes after Alcatraz’s announcement of a $25 million Series A funding round in September.
“Security leaders around the globe are asking for technology that not only reduces employee friction at the point of access, but simplifies the deployment and enrollment process, reduces integration challenges, respects employee privacy, and ensures their people and places are more safe and secure,” said Alcatraz AI CEO, Tina D’Agostin.
D’Agostin went on to note that the events of the last two years have shown that physical security needs have changed, and that “[t]ouchless, frictionless, automated security is here to stay.”
Nilsen joins Alcatraz AI following a decade with Danish workplace experience and facility management company ISS, where she served as Nordic Security Manger for the past seven years; while Oakes has previously held roles as the Managing Director for biometric security solutions provider ievo and as a Commercial Manager for CDVI UK.
Speaking on the appointments of Bodil and Oakes, D’agostin added, “We’ve built a team with decades of success and experience in the physical security market and are excited to add Bodil and Shaun to the Alcatraz AI team.”
