At the end of each week, FindBiometrics has been rounding up the site’s most popular posts, and reviewing them for anyone who might have missed the big news. The collection this week spans across a range of topics, from corporate restructuring to national ID to FinTech; but if there’s any trend to be found in the bunch, it may have something to do with airport biometrics, a topic covered in two of the top five articles.
The first is about a major new contract established between AENA and Atos, which will see the organizations working together on a number of airport upgrades including the use of biometric tech for access control and passenger boarding:

Moving back to terra firma, readers also proved interested in Thales’ announcement concerning its new Digital Identity and Security business unit. This is the result of the company’s acquisition of Gemalto, and it appears to have high expectations for the unit’s potential:
