“As for airline partners, the latest additions bring the total number of participating airlines in TSA PreCheck to 47. “
The Transportation Security Administration has teamed up with five additional airline partners for its TSA PreCheck biometric expedited screening program. Air France, Brussels Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Philippine Airlines, and World Atlantic have all signed on.
The program is designed to speed up traveler processing for US citizens at airports. Participants submit biometric and biographic data to the TSA upon registration, and that information is subsequently used to quickly authenticate them when for border processing at the airport. It has seen considerable growth over the last couple of years, administrators having announced last summer that it had exceeded five million registrants.
As for airline partners, the latest additions bring the total number of participating airlines in TSA PreCheck to 47. The program is also now in operation in over 2oo airports in the US.
PreCheck’s growth dovetails with the Customs and Border Protection Agency’s efforts to expand biometric security screening at various airports in the country as part of a broader program to establish a biometric entry-exit program at all US border points.
