Acuity Delivers Updated ABC eGate and APC Kiosk Data

Acuity Market Intelligence has published new updates to its Automated Border Control (ABC) eGate and Automated Passport Control (APC) Kiosk Deployment Lists.

The market research firm has been ahead of the curve in assessing the booming airport and border biometrics markets with previous reports and analysis. Back in early 2017, for example, Acuity asserted that the ABC eGates had seen a CAGR of 24 percent between 2013 and 2016, and predicted that the overall ABC eGates and APC kiosk market was on track to reach a value of $1 billion by 2020.

A more recent report on the airport biometrics market, published earlier this year, forecast that the number of biometric touchpoints deployed in airports around the world would see a 27 percent annual growth rate between 2019 and 2022.

With its latest data, Acuity says that there are now almost 3500 ABC eGates in operation at over 200 locations across 80 countries, and 2500 APC kiosks in place at 82 locations, 78 of which are airports, with the remainder being two cruise ports, a land border checkpoint, and even a deployment on a daily ferry.
