1Kosmos Unveils 1Key Biometric Solution for Secure Shared Account Access

1Kosmos has launched a new FIDO-compliant biometric authentication solution called 1Key, designed to enhance security and accountability in shared login environments. The solution addresses critical security challenges in operational technology systems, hospitality services, and other collaborative workspaces where multiple users need access to shared accounts.

The launch comes amid growing enterprise adoption of passwordless authentication technologies, with recent reports showing that 87 percent of enterprises in the US and UK are implementing such solutions. 1Key’s introduction follows 1Kosmos’s significant market expansion in 2024, during which the company tripled its revenue and doubled its customer base.

The solution features a dedicated biometric-enabled device that remains permanently connected to protected endpoints, allowing multiple users to authenticate via fingerprint verification. This approach eliminates the security risks associated with traditional shared passwords while maintaining a detailed audit trail of all access events.

1Key integrates with privileged access management systems, including CyberArk’s credential vault, which has recently expanded its identity security capabilities through strategic acquisitions. The solution’s FIDO compliance is particularly significant as FIDO standards continue to gain prominence in global digital identity infrastructure.
