The New Jersey-based company introduced 1Kosmos 1Key, a biometric security key for phishing-resistant passwordless multi-factor authentication in mobile-restricted environments. They also expanded into the public sector by launching a Credential Service Provider (CSP) managed service to help government agencies verify resident identities and issue secure credentials.
1Kosmos enhanced its platform to support web-based identity proofing sessions on mobile devices without requiring a dedicated app. The platform runs on a private and permissioned blockchain to maintain GDPR compliance and ensure tamper-evident identity verification.
In 2024, KuppingerCole’s Leadership Compass Report for Passwordless Authentication for Consumers named 1Kosmos an Overall Leader. The company also appeared as a Sample Vendor in five 2024 Gartner Hype Cycle reports.
The company added Christine Owen as Field Chief Technology Officer, bringing her extensive experience in federal government identity and access management and zero trust consulting.
The 1Kosmos platform holds certifications including NIST 800-63-3, UK DIATF (via Kantara), FIDO2, DEA EPCS, and ISO/IEC 30107-3 Presentation Attack Detection (via iBeta). It is available as a cloud service, SDK for mobile apps, and a CSP managed service.
CEO Hemen Vimadalal called 2024 “a transformative year,” highlighting the Login.gov agreement and new product launches as key achievements that position the company for growth in 2025.
