1Kosmos Integrates Identity Platform with Microsoft Entra ID to Boost Security

1Kosmos announced today the integration of its identity verification platform with Microsoft Entra ID, expanding enterprise security capabilities through enhanced identity verification and passwordless authentication. The integration comes as 1Kosmos continues its strong market momentum, following triple revenue growth in 2024.

The new integration enables organizations to provision new users efficiently while reducing service desk workload through self-service identity verification options. Users can verify their identity using QR codes or smart links, supporting a seamless onboarding experience across Microsoft and non-Microsoft ecosystems.

The news follows several major industry moves toward enhanced identity verification solutions, including 1Kosmos’s recent $194.5 million agreement with the U.S. General Services Administration to improve Login.gov’s identity verification capabilities.

“Microsoft Entra ID is a powerful identity platform, but support for non-Microsoft applications, legacy systems, and hybrid environments can be challenging,” said Rohan Pinto, CTO of 1Kosmos. “The 1Kosmos platform supplements Entra ID with an external authentication infrastructure that spans both modern and legacy systems, enforces high-assurance identity proofing and delivers secure, frictionless access to all enterprise applications.”

The integration provides consistent passwordless multi-factor authentication across Active Directory, Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, Unix, and legacy systems. This comprehensive coverage addresses a growing enterprise need for unified identity verification solutions, particularly as organizations implement Zero Trust frameworks.

Natee Pretikul, Principal Product Management Lead for Microsoft Security, emphasized the collaborative nature of the integration. “With the new integration of Entra ID External Authentication Methods and 1Kosmos, our customers can now use 1Kosmos’ identity verification and passwordless solutions to enhance their security,” he said. “This will make access easier and reduce fraud risks.”

The integration comes amid increasing industry adoption of passwordless authentication solutions, following similar moves by other providers. Recently, iProov integrated its biometric authentication with Microsoft Entra to secure 345 million global workers, indicating a broader industry shift toward advanced authentication methods.

The 1Kosmos Platform with Entra ID integration is available immediately through 1Kosmos and its business partners. The East Brunswick, New Jersey-based company, backed by Forgepoint Capital and Gula Tech Adventures, serves various sectors including government agencies, banks, telecommunications, higher education, and healthcare organizations.
